another source for the Law of Attraction

Carol Tuttle (another proponent of the Law of Attraction), author of “Remembering Wholeness”…also makes the point that wishful thinking ain’t gonna do it…you must focus on that which you want and then be prepared to do the work necessary as opportunities are attracted to you…

this isn’t just about money…it’s about relationships, it’s about health, it’s about personal joy…it’s about being responsible for your place in life…accountability…it’s about, in my view, taking the tools that God/Universe has placed within all of us and working together with our Creator to fulfill our lifes’ dreams, destiny, whatever you want to term it…too many would rather hope and hope that God will save us but we’re not willing to look inside for what we need to save ourselves…that would be scary for many, it requires an honest look in the mirror…again and again i go back to a quote from Christ, “The Kingdom of Heaven is within you”…i think He was trying to tell us that hey y’all…all you need you have within…i for one would like to find that Kingdom and take hold of my life…

for the naysayers…

ahem (clearing of throat)…
There once was a man who agreed with everyone. (for the purpose of this story, we’ll call him Jim) One day, Jim was challenged. “You can’t agree with everyone!” said a very upset member of the community, this after he tried to force his opinion down Jim’s throat regarding a belief he had that was bringing him great joy and peace. Jim thought about this challenge for a moment and then said, “You know what, you’re right.” He then turned and walked away, continuing to live his life doing what made him happiest, even as everyone else tried to convince him that he was wrong, wrong, wrong.
The naysayers believe they are right…so let them. They too are living the Law of Attraction, they just don’t want to admit it. They may not be ready to look outside the box. For the rest of us I say, once you’ve looked outside the box, outside the mores and set in stone concepts and ideas of the day, the view is so richly wonderful. It is a view of possibilities, a view in which each of us is so holy and empowered. Even the naysayers. I wish them luck.

Letter to Bob Proctor regarding Nightline Interview….

I just watched you explain your views regarding the Law of Attraction.  I am amazed and yet, not amazed at the critical stance of many who would say the Law of Attraction is bogus and that what is presented in The Secret is potentially dangerous.  I’m not amazed because so many great teachers throughout history were persecuted when they stepped out with a Truth. Christ Himself said: the Kingdom of Heaven is within you…and we all know what happened to Him. It seems to me that what these critics are doing is picking and choosing pieces and parts in order to have something to argue.  They are not listening to the entire presentation because, if they did, they would see the legitimacy of what you and your fellow “teachers” talk about.  The way I view the Law of Attraction is this:  tune yourself to that which you most desire and you will open your senses to opportunities that otherwise you may have missed.  This is much like what happens when you buy that new red sports car.  You drive off the lot and what do your eyes catch more of but, a plethora of red on the road!  When you are vibrating in harmony to your desire, you are open to those opportunities and then, you take action…you work toward that desire but with the belief or rather knowing, that you will achieve your dream.  And, the Universe (God) keeps sending that which would help you succeed.  Why not?  Why is this so difficult to understand/accept? Because it scares people to be accountable.  People would rather blame God/Universe and wait for God to save them. Indeed, I have known this “Secret” all my life but it took watching the DVD to open my eyes and heart.  As a single mother who has struggled for years, I realized full on that everything I had ever experienced, I created.  It just made sense to me.  I long to be a published writer, to pull my family into abundance, to have all our dreams come true but it’s going to take a conscious effort and wakeful state of mind.  It is worth the work and I am seeing things happen in my world that I truly attribute to my focusing on what I want versus what I fear. I for one thank Rhonda, you and all your fellow teachers for putting yourselves out there with this concept and for standing up for it.  I believe with every fiber of my being that if all the inhabitants of this planet took this Law to heart and worked at it, we would find our world healed, our wars unnecessary, our suffering gone.  Again, thank you.

law of attraction…more and more and more and more thoughts!!!

i’ve written about this before…if the law of attraction is so powerful within a single human being…what about that power gathered together within the masses?  if you have a group of people holding a belief and living as though, without a doubt, this belief will transpire…doesn’t it then make sense that indeed, that which they believe so strongly will come to pass?  so, if an entire group of people lives in fear of persecution…wouldn’t they then manifest this fear over and over and over again?  this is merely a thought to try on…i’ve been verbally attacked when i’ve mentioned this because the belief is so strong that of course people do not attract those situations so harmful and painful to them…i’ve been told that by mentioning this i must think they then deserve what happens to them…that i have no remorse or moral feeling…

jeez…

let me break it down a bit further…yes…to me it makes sense that we attract into our lives all…all that we experience…and yes…it also makes sense that this theory applies to all of us, young and old…but…i must add before someone comes a-knockin with an angry mob behind them ready to lynch me…there has to be more to the story…there is more, so much that we haven’t figured out yet…there are layers upon layers of mysteries waiting for us to uncover…so, not necessarily should my mentioning of this idea then cause such anger to erupt in people…chill out for heaven’s sake!  when i say that somehow genocide, rape, murder…all of these ugly things are somehow attracted into the lives of the victims suffering them…i say this knowing in my heart that there is much more going on than merely what they are thinking about…for example…what if the family of the girl who is raped has this underlying and overwhelming fear that some one of their own will suffer this horrible fate…what if the adults in this family somehow transfer their fear onto the child, whether consciously or unconsciously…thru the energy they nurse from within…what if this is what attracts the rape into this child’s life?  what if?  i’m not saying this is so…i’m simply stating a place from which to stand and view the situation…a different perspective…this offers a chance for people to look within and perhaps change their thinking…shift it a bit…it’s good to be safe and to protect your children, but to have a deep fear that at any given moment someone of their own will be hurt in some way…this fear is dangerous because in my “opinion”, the risk is now that the fear will manifest…i say opinion because i want to make clear that i fully realize i don’t know it all…i simply go with what sits right with my gut…logic aside, ultimately, my soul must feel at ease and i must follow that voice within…(is that me being p/c?  ewwww)

then there are those who say that the law of attraction encourages self blame in the lives of those who don’t get what they want…ooookkkkaaayyyy….here’s what bothers me…we live in a society that takes no responsibility…if someone steps on a nail inside the boundaries of a person’s yard, even though signs said keep out…that someone can sue the owner of the yard and rake in the dough…all the while hopping on one leg away from taking any responsibility for having made the choice to step into the yard…this is just one scenario but there are many…people take no responsibility and then complain that people are taking no responsibility…hell, we’re watching it happen, thinkin about how insane it is that this lack of personal accountability is happening…and then, when a dvd like The Secret comes out calling for responsibility down to the very level of our thinking…folks go into an uproar about the dangers of what is being talked about…self blame…here’s my “opinion”…we need a lot more “self blame” and a lot less putting the responsibility for our lives onto others shoulders…isn’t it about time we stopped this victim crap…wallowing in the cesspools of “woe is me” and “she did it to me/he did it to me” is getting old and frankly, damaging our world from the inside out…

another argument i’ve heard against the law of attraction concept is that it discourages people from working hard to achieve their goals…that it falsely promotes the idea that all you have to do is think about you want and boom, you’ll have it…ok….missing the point here….what i get from what i’ve read and seen about the law of attraction is that you tend to slow down and keep your senses attune to what the Universe/God offers you…this comes in the way of opportunities, inspiration, insights, etc…for example…you have Jim…nice enough guy, hard worker…his goal is to one day manage his own company…he is plagued by self doubt but, he’s doing all the “right” things…he writes his short and long term goals…he creates a plan to achieve what he wants, all the while pushing down those doubts and fears…he thinks that if he works really hard and moves really fast along this path he’s paving, he will achieve his long term goal of managing his own company…meanwhile, he has conversations with potential investors but never hears when they bring up an idea he can adopt as his own…never considers asking them later to perhaps invest in him…he never notices that lot for sale right in a prime area for a potential business…yet he drives by this lot everyday…all these opportunities are there but, he’s moving to fast to see them…gotta cross off those goals, gotta keep working hard…meanwhile, his stress continues to grow as fast as his doubts and he never does get to his dream…he settles and in the end, his list of goals sit unfinished…

law of attraction method…let’s take that same guy…Jim…he wakes up one day and decides to write down the life he wants as though he’s already living it…he details it extensively, leaves nothing out…he let’s himself feel grateful, closes his eyes and really envisions this dream life of his…he then breathes deep and then on another sheet he writes down his short and long term goals…he does this with anticipation and joy…and whenever a doubt forms, he refers back to his ”story” about the life he wants…this is a concious effort and it works…that doubt is replaced by a feeling of, again, anticipation and joy…he chooses to focus on what he wants and he slows down…he notices things around him, whether they be in conversations, people he meets, that lot for sale…he slows down enough to see the opportunities being put right in front of him and he feels no sense of urgency because he truly believes that he is the owner of his own business…he is present in his life and aware when the Universe/God grants him what he considers his already…this is not to say he is sitting back…he is merely slowing down…seeing the forest for the trees…

i believe in our power…we are energy and more and more we are discovering our own responsibility within us and outside of us…it is my sense too that we are here to make this discovery…our ultimate and fundamental purpose is to awaken to what God/Universe has placed within us all…one great teacher (one of many) made statements that alluded to this, “the kingdom of heaven is within you” is one that has stuck with me since i was a child…Christ was telling us we are already in possession of all we need…it’s in there…what are we waiting for and why are we so afraid of it?
